Who said low scoring test matches were a thing of the past? Atleast, the third Ashes test in Birmingham defied that theory as the bowlers simply dominated the game. The second day began with England gaining a valuable lead of 145 in the first innings.
Steven Finn, seemed to be a bowler on a mission. He used his height to great effect as the Australian batsmen were all at sea against him. There was a scare for England as James Anderson walked off the field. However, his absence didn’t hinder England’s charge as Alastair Cook remained ruthless. His aggressive captaincy is surely doing wonders to the fortunes of England.
Twitter was a buzz throughout the course of the second day. Below, are the top tweets for the second day’s play.
Between Lord’s and Edgbaston Trevor Bayliss said that England could still win Ashes because of their ability to take 20 wickets. #Ashes2015

Test match cricket much better when ball is on top. Low-scoring games more tense, exciting but rare. Great spectacle #Ashes2015
