November 1, 2017, will mark the end of one of the injury-marred painstakingly long careers in the history of Indian cricket. Ashish Nehra is the man who will bid adieu to the game of cricket at his home ground, Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.

Though there are still doubts over whether Nehra will be part of the playing XI in his farewell game or not, he is a carefree man. He has already said that it does not affect him whether he will be part of playing XI as it will be the best XI players who would be playing the game.

Nehra hasn’t yet divulged his retirements plans, but when asked upon his life after retirement, the fast bowler said he hadn’t overruled any role in the time to come,

“I mean no role is overruled, coaching commentary what comes. I am not saying that I can’t do coaching or commentary, that only time will tell,” he told News 18 during an interview.

Since his comeback to the Indian team in 2016, Nehra has come up as a guide to all the fast bowlers in the Indian set-up. Whether talking of Jasprit Bumrah or Bhuvnehswar Kumar, all the players have looked up to him as a mentor and it would good if Nehra comes back to the Indian team as a bowling coach.

On being inquired about him taking up this role in the time to come, Nehra again did not rule out this event and said he has a never to tell any attitude,

“Who knows, maybe (I take up the role). I am a sort of person who has never say never attitude but who knows. As I said, I have planned until first November now and then I will see what I want to do after that,” Nehra added.

Though, practically, chances of this event are quite bleak because the current Indian coaching staff had been issued the contract till 2019 World Cup.

He could well start from IPL where he can join a team as a mentor or a bowling coach, which will also open the doors for him to join the Indian team in future.
