Asia Cup 2018: Bangladesh Announces 15-man Squad
Bangladesh has announced the 15-man squad for the Asia Cup 2018. Thus, the Tigers becomes the first side to announce their squad for the forthcoming tournament.
Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan makes the cut into the squad. There were reports that Hasan could have missed out in the competition as he was expected to get his hand operated. Shakib Al Hasan is the vice-captain of the Bangladesh side.
There were doubts about Shakib Al Hasan participation.
Mohammad Mithun is called back into the squad after his impressive performance for Bangladesh A side against Ireland A. However, Anamul Haque, Sabbir Rahman and Mominul Haque could not break into the squad.
Meanwhile, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Namzul Islam Apu, Abu Hider Rony and Ariful Haque have received another shot in the Bangladesh squad. Thus, the young lads will like to impress with their skills.
The Asia Cup 2018 will begin on 15 September in the UAE. The final will take place at Dubai on 30 September. Meanwhile, Bangladesh will begin their Asia Cup when they will lock horns with Sri Lanka on 15 September. Afghanistan is the third side in the Group B.
On the other hand, India and Pakistan constitute Group A of the tournament. The winners of the qualifiers will be the third side who will join India and Pakistan.
