Former Pakistan fast bowler Yasir Arafat believes India will be weak without the services of their full-time, Virat Kohli. The number one batsman in the world has been rested for forthcoming Asia Cup 2018. BCCI wanted to keep Kohli’s workload in check.

Thus, Rohit Sharma will hold the captaincy reins in the absence of Virat Kohli. Rohit has time and again led India in the absence of Kohli and has done a fine job. However, there is no denying the fact that India will miss Kohli as a batsman at number three position. Kohli is the nucleus of India’s batting in all the three formats of the game.

Kohli has been the nucleus of India’s batting.

Consequently, experienced players like Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan will hold the key to India’s batting order.

Yasir Arafat believes India has a potent spin attack as Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal has done a fine job in the recent past.

“The conditions in the UAE will suit India as well and they have some very able spinners in their squad. Most of their players are also very experienced but all said and done, it would be fair to say that the Indian side will be weaker without the presence of Virat Kohli,” said the 36-year-old.

“All in all, this will be a fantastic game for a full house to watch and something memorable for the players as well,” Yasir added.

India and Pakistan will take on each other on 19 September at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
