Bangladesh vs Windies 2018: Nayeem Hasan Becomes the Youngest to Bag Fifer on Test Debut

Just before of his 18th birthday, at being 17 years and 356 days old, Nayeem Hasan recorded his name in the history books. The right-arm off break spinner scalped a five-wicket haul to become the youngest bowler to do so on Test match debut. It is a perfect start for the prodigy spinner in his Test career as his fifer helped the hosts skittle out the visitors for 246 runs.

Therefore, Bangladesh was able to get a crucial lead of 78 runs in the first innings of the first Test match. Meanwhile, Nayeem got better of Sunil Ambris, Roston Chase, Devendra Bishoo, Kemar Roach and Jomel Warrican.
Fine start for the youngster.
Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan who is making a comeback after finger injury lay off scalped three wickets whereas Mehidy Hasan and Taijul Islam took one scalp each.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh posted a score of 324 runs in the first innings. Mominul Haque continued his sublime form in the red ball version as he scored his eight hundred.
On the other hand, the Windies could only manage 246 in their batting innings. Shimron Hetmyer and Shane Dowrich scored 63 runs each. However, the other batsmen could not contribute to the team’s total.

The hosts have also not got off to a good start as they have lost two early wickets and have added only 22 runs on the board. However, they lead by 100 runs and hold the advantage baton.
Meanwhile, Nayeem Hasan is an exciting young prospect for the Bangladesh team. The off-spinner had also played a handy knock of 26 runs in the first innings. He had also represented Bangladesh Under-19 in the World Cup. Thus, he would like to continue his good form going.
