Jacques Rudolph (South Africa) – 222* vs Bangladesh at Chattogram April 2003

Former South African batsman Jacques Rudolph is the latest addition in this special list as he became the fifth batsman to score a double-century on Test debut. It was the 2003 Chattogram Test against the hosts Bangladesh where the left-handed batsman Rudolph made his Test debut.
After Bangladesh were all out for just 173 runs, South Africa replied with 470/2 declared. The left-handed batsman Rudolph scored 222 not out off 383 balls (29 fours and 2 sixes) and put the 429 runs partnership for the unbroken third-wicket with Boeta Dippenaar (177*).
Later, South Africa won that match by an innings and 60 runs after bowling the hosts out again for 237 runs in their second innings.
Till 2012, Rudolph played 48 Tests, 45 ODIs and two T20Is.
