Former Indian aggressive opening batsman Virender Sehwag also hit two IPL centuries and that too one each for two different franchises. His first IPL century was for the Delhi Daredevils (DD) in the 2011 season when the skipper scored a 48-ball century against Deccan Chargers (DC) at Hyderabad (Deccan) on 5th May 2011. He scored 119 runs off 56 balls (13 fours and 6 sixes), which helped his team to chase down the 176 runs target in 19 overs after losing six wickets (179/6).

During the Qualifier 2 of the IPL 2014, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) opener Sehwag scored his second IPL century against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Mumbai (30th May 2014). He scored 122 runs off 58 balls (12 fours and 8 sixes), including 50-ball century, and his team managed the first innings total of 226/6 (20 overs). In reply, the CSK managed to score 202/7 as the KXIP advanced to the final after winning that match by 24 runs.
