Jasprit Bumrah has been one of the best fast bowlers of the decade–is often sidelined due to injuries. According to the reports, the Indian management and the stakeholders do not want to risk him before the ODI world cup as it may affect his long career.

BCCI source said to Indian express about Bumrah’s injury-

Not many in the BCCI are aware of his injury. Only VVS Laxman (NCA director) has been assigned to speak to him and the physios. Even the selection committee has been told that they will be informed about Bumrah’s actual injury and his rehab details in due course,” said the source.

As the right arm pacer underwent back surgery in New Zealand, he will miss the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL)  2023 and he will be doing rehabilitation to fully recover for the upcoming cricket season.

The 29-year-old availability will be crucial for Indian Team in the ODI World Cup 2023, India’s team failed to win a single ICC trophy post-Champions Trophy victory in 2013 under the leadership of legendary MS Dhoni, after which India failed to cross the hurdle in the knockout stages despite doing well in the league stages.

Bumrah is out of action since September 2022, when he last played for India. He is currently recovering at National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. While many former cricketers have suggested that Bumrah needs to change his action to play further for Men in Blue.

The former Pakistani speedster, Shoaib Akhtar comes in the support of Bumrah by stating that he is brave and he will be back with his original action for the team India in the future,
After the recently concluded ODI series against Australia, where the home side faced defeat against the Aussies by 2-1, the Indian fast bowling unit is surely missing the presence of Bumrah, with Mohammad Shami and Mohammed Siraj unable to take full responsibility as Bumrah adds a different flavour to the bowling unit with his yorkers and tight line and length, he automatically becomes the crucial juncture for the team.
