Jasprit Bumrah has been one of the best fast bowlers of the decade–is often sidelined due to injuries. According to the reports, the Indian management and the stakeholders do not want to risk him before the ODI world cup as it may affect his long career.
Bumrah recently went for back surgery in New Zealand, after his treatment, it is reported that BCCI has appointed National Cricket Academy (NCA) director, VVS Laxman as the sole representative of getting regular updates on Indian speedster injury.

BCCI source said to Indian express about Bumrah’s injury-
“Not many in the BCCI are aware of his injury. Only VVS Laxman (NCA director) has been assigned to speak to him and the physios. Even the selection committee has been told that they will be informed about Bumrah’s actual injury and his rehab details in due course,” said the source.
As the right arm pacer underwent back surgery in New Zealand, he will miss the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 and he will be doing rehabilitation to fully recover for the upcoming cricket season.
The 29-year-old availability will be crucial for Indian Team in the ODI World Cup 2023, India’s team failed to win a single ICC trophy post-Champions Trophy victory in 2013 under the leadership of legendary MS Dhoni, after which India failed to cross the hurdle in the knockout stages despite doing well in the league stages.

Bumrah is out of action since September 2022, when he last played for India. He is currently recovering at National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. While many former cricketers have suggested that Bumrah needs to change his action to play further for Men in Blue.
