New Zealand Vs India 2020: BCCI Reveals Christchurch Pitch Before Second Test

Like before the first Test of the ongoing Test series between the hosts New Zealand and the visitors India, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has once again revealed the pitch before the Christchurch Test.

The Christchurch Test will be the second and final game of this two-match Test series between New Zealand and India. As a host, New Zealand has a regular tendency to set up the lively green pitches for Test cricket, and we have experienced it in this ongoing Test series.

Ahead of the Wellington Test, which was the opening game of this series, the BCCI opened up that pitch. It was the green track where the hosts dominated over the Indian cricketers. India scored only 165 runs in the first innings after losing the toss, while the hosts replied with 348 runs in their first innings.

The visiting side scored only 191 runs in their second innings, and the Blackcaps won that match by ten wickets after chasing the nine runs target in the fourth innings without losing any wicket.

New Zealand pacer Tim Southee won the Player of the Match award in that game as he took nine wickets. While the right-arm pacer took four wickets (4/49) in the first innings, he claimed a five-wicket haul (5/61) in the third innings of that match. Also, the debutant Kyle Jamieson (4/39 & 0/45) and the left-arm pacer Trent Boult (1/57 & 4/39) shined with the ball in that Test.

Spot the pitch: BCCI asks to the fans ahead of the Christchurch Test

Hagley Oval (Christchurch) will host the second and final Test of this series that will begin on 29th February. While it is again a green pitch, the BCCI has asked the Indian cricket fans to spot the pitch from the ground picture. Here is this green track at Hagley Oval which the BCCI has shared ahead of the final Test.

As New Zealand are leading this series by the 1-0 margin, the final Test will be the must-win game for the visitors to save this Test series.
