BCCI (The Board of Control For Cricket In India) felicitate Virender Sehwag before the start of the fourth and final Test between India and South Africa at Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.

Virender Sehwag was one of the most furious and entertaining batsman in the world. He was India’s one of the most important batsmen. Sehwag announced his retirement from international cricket on October 20 in this year.

Feroz Shah Kotla is organizing the fourth and final Test of the ongoing series between India and South Africa. The series is already decided for India, who are leading the series by 2-0. But today, Sehwag takes the limelight for the opening hour in the first morning of the final Test. Though there were some initial communication problems, the DDCA (Delhi & District Cricket Association) seems to have decided to join in the fun.

Earlier, BCCI decided to honour one of India’s finest batsman of all-time. They selected this final Test to give him the honour. Finally, BCCI honoured the Sehwag before the beginning of the match.

Sehwag made his international debut as a middle-order batsman against Pakistan in ODI in the year of 1999 at Mohali. He made Test debut against South Africa at Bloemfontein in 2001 and scored maiden Test hundred (105) after he came to bat at no.6. But after some time, he became important opener for the team. Sehwag played his last ODI against Pakistan at Kolkata in January 2013 and last Test against Australia at Hyderabad in March, 2013. He played his last T-20 against South Africa in 2012 T-20 World Cup.

Sehwag’s career was great as he was very aggressive and entertaining batsman. He holds many records in cricket. He hit two triple hundred for India, one of which was the fastest triple hundred. He is the highest individual scorer in an innings for India in Test cricket. He also scored double hundred in ODI and was the highest individual scorer in the ODI cricket (219), which was broken later by India’s another batsman Rohit Sharma (264). He scored 8586 runs in Test and 8273 runs in ODI. He was an important member of 2007 T-20 and 2011 World Cup winning team.

Sehwag thanked BCCI and DDCA for this honour through twitter.
