IPL 2020: BCCI Might Quash Suresh Raina’s Comeback Plan

Suresh Raina’s return to the CSK camp in the UAE will depend on the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) decision. If the former Indian cricketer fails to explain the reason for his sudden decision to pull out of the league, BCCI might not give him a green signal to come back.
Suresh Raina, in his recent interview, had explained that he was urgently needed in his family front which led his decision to pull out from the tournament. He also hinted that he might make a return and join the CSK camp. The franchise owner N Srinivasan had responded to Raina’s statement and said that the decision lies on the hand of the captain and team management.
As per reports in TOI, BCCI is still doesn’t know the exact reason behind CSK’s player exit. He will have to explain the reason if the Indian board doesn’t get satisfied with his reasoning, he might have to sit out of the tournament.
“What the BCCI will have to do is evaluate what exactly were the reasons. If it’s about his family, it’s his personal reason. If it was a rift with MS (Dhoni), then it’s CSK’s internal issue. If he came back because of depression, then it’s a mental issue. We can’t let him go if he’s depressed. Who’ll be responsible if something goes wrong?” an official told TOI.
CSK has not named a replacement for Suresh Raina:
After Suresh Raina’s exit, several reports have passed, saying that he was unhappy with his room. N. Srinivasan had also said that the veteran behaved like a ‘primadonna’. However, he soon came forward to clear his statement.
There were speculations that Raina had left IPL 2020 because of the spread of coronavirus in the CSK camp. 13 personnel, including two players, tested positive of the virus.
As of now, CSK has not roped in any replacement for Raina. They have also started training session after all the tests turned out negative.
