Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has rated Ben Stokes as the number one all-rounder in all the three formats of the game. Stokes has been in sublime form in the recent past and scored a magnificent knock of 176 runs in the ongoing second Test match against the West Indies. Stokes faced 356 balls in his marathon knock, which is his longest innings in terms of balls. Stokes has been the most consistent all-rounder and his record speaks for himself.
The talisman has been in fine form in the last two years and the results are palpable. Stokes has an average of 43 and 59 in Test and ODI respectively in the last two years and he has batted at the top of his game. Furthermore, the right-arm pacer also chips in with the ball at crucial stages.

Stokes is currently the number two all-rounder in the ICC Test rankings. The England all-rounder is also placed at second rank as an all-rounder in the ODI rankings.
“At this point in time, there is no doubt in my mind that is the number one all-rounder in the world across all three formats. He has an average of 43 in Tests, 59 in ODIs over the last two years,” Aakash Chopra said on his Youtube channel.

Stokes is batting at the top of his game and there is no doubt that he is currently England’s best batsman. The left-hander is currently averaging 36.68 in the Test fold whereas he has an average of 40.63 in the ODI format.
