It was the first game of the two-match ODI series during England tour of West Indies in 1980/81 season. After England decided to field first, West Indies were all-out for just 127 runs (47.2 overs). Only the opener Desmond Haynes (34) and Everton Mattis (62) managed to reach the double-digit scores in that innings.
In reply, England were bundled out for only 125 runs (48.2 overs) as West Indies won that match by just two runs. While Colin Croft (6/15) was the hero of that second innings, the right-arm fast bowler Joel Garner also played the crucial economical role despite not taking any wicket. Garner’s bowling figures in that game was 10-2-17-0 (economy rate 1.70).
