Watch: Chris Jordan Takes Phenomenal Catch In Big Bash League

In the Big Bash League 2019, Chris Jordan took a stunner catch, proving to be a game-changer for Perth Scorchers (PRS). The pacer showed his top fitness level against Melbourne Renegades (MLR) in the ground of Perth Stadium on Saturday (21 December),

MLR won the toss and opted to bowl first against the PRS who went on winning the match. Perth’s captain Mitchell Marsh played a furious innings, scoring unbeaten 56 runs in just 22 balls, which includes 6 sixes. Also, Cameron Bancroft scored 51 runs off 37 balls. Perth set a total of 196 runs at the loss of seven wickets.

Melbourne power hitters were Shaun Marsh (55) and Beau Webster (67*) but could not lead the team to victory. The match-turning point was the dismissal of Daniel Christian as the catch was taken by Chris Jordan on the ball of Fawad Ahmed.

Jordan ran from long-on and then threw in the dive to gobble the catch-up. Even he can not believe his stunt in the ground. It was a good catch to derail the Melbourne Renegades. Perth Scorchers won the match by 11 runs, their first victory in the league so far.

Meanwhile, Chris Jordan has earned a good deal in the IPL 2020 auction. He entered the auction for the base price of INR 75 Lakh but returned earning INR 3 crores. Chris Jordan, who went unsold in the IPL 2019 auction, faced a bidding war between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and at the end, KXIP bought the player for the whopping sum of money.

He started his journey in the cash-rich League in 2016 for Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he played 9 matches and picked 11 wickets. In 2017 and 2018, he played for Sunrisers Hyderabad but didn’t get many chances after which he was released by the franchise ahead of the 2019 auction. In the last edition, he went unsold for the base price of INR 1 crore. Now, he will be seen in KXIP Jersey in the upcoming edition.
