St Kitts and Nevis Patriots innings: Desperate Evin Lewis set up the game, Ben Dunk finished the game in style

Chasing down the target, opener Evin Lewis played the big role as he fought very hard in that challenging chasing. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots openers Lewis and Chris Lynn started with 34 runs partnership, where Lynn scored 16 runs before the leg-spinner Rashid Khan dismissed him on his very first ball of the match.

Soon, Joshua Da Silva was also dismissed for just one run as Tridents’ skipper Jason Holder picked up that wicket.

Though Lewis and wicket-keeper-batsman Denesh Ramdin set up the crucial 78 runs partnership for the third wicket, Ramdin disappointed with his low strike-rate as he scored 20 off 32 balls (only four).

The left-handed opening batsman Lewis, who completed his fifty in 28 balls after hitting three successive sixes, batted tirelessly with the goal of finishing the game. When the team needed 20 runs off 10 balls, tired Lewis was caught out at the long-off, but before that, he scored the most crucial 89 runs off 60 balls with the help of 2 fours and 9 sixes.

In the final over, Patriots had to score 13 runs to register their first victory in this tournament. Ben Dunk’s sixer to Nyeem Young on the second delivery of that final over brought the team closure to the victory. Dunk secured Patriots first victory in the CPL 2020 with another sixer on the third ball of that over. Dunk remained not out on 22 runs off 11 balls (only four and 2 sixes).

Barbados Tridents: Corey Anderson and Ashley Nurse’s batting secured 150+ total after the 50-run opening partnership

Barbados Tridents openers Johnson Charles and wicket-keeper batsman Shai Hope provided the 50-run partnership for the first wicket. But after that partnership was broken, Tridents lost their first four wickets in 29 runs. While Charles and Hope scored 24 and 29 runs respectively, Kyle Mayers scored 22 runs.

Struggling on 79/4, Corey Anderson and Ashley Nurse provided the crucial 56 runs partnership for the fifth wicket. While Anderson finally showed his form as he scored 31 runs off 19 balls (3 sixes), Nurse scored 25 runs off just 17 balls (only four and 2 sixes).

Among St Kitts and Nevis Patriots bowlers, only Jon-Russ Jaggesar managed to claim more than one wicket as he had the bowling figures of 4-0-17-2.
