“Dilscoop” is a scoop shot which was widely promoted by the former Sri Lankan cricketer Tillakaratne Dilshan. It is a shot where a batsman goes on one knee to hit a good length or slightly short of length ball off a pacer and his major target to lead the ball straight over the wicket keeper’s head for a boundary. Dilshan achieved mastery in this kind of shot.

Tillakaratne Dilshan played for Sri Lanka between 1999 and 2016, where he played 87 Tests, 330 ODIs and 80 T20Is. In his international career, apart from scoring 17671 runs, Dilshan also managed to take 154 wickets.
