Former Pakistan cricketer Saleem Malik was a very famous Pakistan cricketer who was also a member during Pakistan’s victory in the 1992 Cricket World Cup. However, his international career ended in a dark way as he was banned from the game for his involvement in the match-fixing.

From 1982 to 1999, Malik played 103 Tests and 283 ODIs, where the right-handed batsman scored 5768 runs (average 43.69) and 7170 runs (average 32.88) respectively. In his long international career, he also managed to take 94 international wickets (89 ODI wickets and five Test wickets).

During the match against Australia in the 1989 MRF World Series at Mumbai (Brabourne Stadium) on 23rd October 1989, Malik featured as a designed wicket-keeper and he also took one catch in that game. It was his only experience as a designed wicket-keeper in the international career.
