Justin Langer
When the Australian team was dominating all over the world under Steve Waugh and subsequently Ricky Ponting’s captaincies, former Aussie opener Justin Langer was playing the crucial role in Test cricket. Though he only managed to play eight ODIs from 1994 to 1997 (160 runs), he appeared in 105 Tests between 1993 and 2007 where the left-handed batsman scored 7696 runs with an average of 45.27.
The excellent slip fielder Langer appeared in half of his ODI career matches, which was in four ODIs, as a designed wicket-keeper. He played all those matches in 1994 (three matches in the Pepsi Austral-Asia Cup at Sharjah and one match was against South Africa in the Wills Triangular Series at Peshawar), where he took one catch and also made one stumping.
