Like everyone, cricketers also have their personal life, which is equally important for their career. Similarly, marriage is also a very important chapter in anyone’s life.

There are some cricketers whose first or initial marriage life wasn’t successful at the end, and they later married for another time.

Here are the top five cricketers who have married for multiple times

Dinesh Karthik

Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik has set a great example in Indian cricket of how to make a comeback again and again from the fall. The wicketkeeper-batsman has gradually improved his batting skills and later earned the national call-up as a specialised batsman.

Karthik, who made international debut in 2004, is still active in international cricket. He has played 26 Tests, 94 ODIs and 32 T20Is where he has scored 1025 runs (average 25.00), 1752 runs (average 30.20) and 399 runs (average 33.25) respectively.

In 2007, Karthik married his childhood friend Nikita Vanjara. But in 2012, Karthik-Nikita divorced, and in that same year, Nikita married to another Indian cricketer Murali Vijay.

In August 2015, Karthik married star Indian squash player Dipika Pallikal.

Brett Lee

The former Australian cricketer Brett Lee was famous for his fiery pace bowling. Sometimes his deliveries were really a nightmare even for the top-class batsmen. Moreover, he was also a useful lower-order batsman.

Lee played international cricket from 1999 to 2012 where he played 76 Tests, 221 ODIs and 25 T20Is. The right-arm fast bowler took 310 Test wickets, 380 ODI wickets, and 28 T20I wickets. Also, as a right-handed lower-order batsman, Lee scored 2728 runs in an international career.

In June 2006, Lee married Elizabeth Kemp. After their two years of marriage, Lee confirmed his separation from Kemp. Later in 2009, they finally divorced. They have a son.

In 2014, Lee married Lana Anderson, and they have now two children.

Shoaib Malik

Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik is one of the greatest all-rounders of his country. Though he started his international career as an off-spinner, soon he impressed with his batting skills and evolved as an effective batting all-rounder.

Malik, who made international debut in 1999, is still active in T20I cricket. He has played 35 ODIs, 287 ODIs, and 113 T20Is (most-capped T20I player) where the right-handed batsman has scored 1898 runs (average 35.14), 7534 runs (average 34.55), and 2321 runs (average 31.36) respectively. Malik also led the Pakistan team in 64 international matches – three Tests, 41 ODIs, and 20 T20Is.

Malik reportedly married Ayesha Siddique in 2002 but divorced in 2010 to marry the Indian tennis star, Sania Mirza. Malik married Sania on 12th April 2010. In October 2018, their son Izhaan Mirza Malik was born.

Mohammad Azharuddin

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin was not only the greatest batsman of the country, but he was also a successful captain of the nation. While his international career ran from 1985 to 2000, Azharuddin played 99 Tests and 334 ODIs where the right-handed batsman scored 6215 runs (average 45.03) and 9378 runs (average 36.92) respectively.

Azharuddin’s international career ended after he was found to be involved in a match-fixing scandal in 2000. While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) soon imposed the life-ban on him from cricket, but in the 2010s, the ban was finally lifted.

In 1987, Azharuddin married Naureen. But in 1996, then Indian captain divorced his first wife and married the Bollywood actress Sangeeta Bijlani. However, according to the media reports, Azharuddin-Sangeeta marriage was also ended in a divorce.

Imran Khan

Former Pakistan cricketer and present Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was one of the greatest all-rounders in international cricket history. He led the Pakistan team to win the 1992 Cricket World Cup.

Imran experienced international cricket from 1971 to 1992 where he played 88 Tests and 175 ODIs.

The right-handed batsman scored 3807 Test runs (average 37.69) and 3709 ODI runs (average 33.41), while as a right-arm fast bowler, he managed to claim 362 Test wickets and 182 ODI wickets.

Legendary cricketer Imran Khan has married thrice. Jemima Goldsmith, a British TV, film, and documentary producer, was his first wife. They married in 1995 but they divorced in 2004.

In January 2015, Imran confirmed his marriage with Reham Khan, a Libyan-born British Pakistani journalist, author, and filmmaker. However, their marriage lasted long for around ten months as they divorced in October 2015.

Imran married Bushra Bibi in 2018. All of his wives are more than 20-year younger than Imran Khan.
