Australian opening batsman, David Warner has returned to the home Test with a bang. So, obviously, he has already won a lot of Australian fans’ hearts. At the end of the day, Warner won more hearts after his nice gesture to a young fan.
The hosts Australia have just started their home Test summer. At present, they are playing a Test match against Pakistan at The Gabba (Brisbane). It is the first Test of the two-match Test series, where David Warner showed his magic on entire day two.
After winning the toss, the visiting captain Azhar Ali decided to bat first. But Pakistan struggled in the first innings and they were bundled out on 240 runs at the stumps on day two.
End a long wait of the home Test
After the Sydney Test in January 2018 during the Ashes 2017/18, the ongoing Test is the first home Test for David Warner as well as Steven Smith. Between this period, both of them have faced the one-year suspensions from the Cricket Australia (CA) due to their involvement in the Sandpapergate incident during the Cape Town Test against the hosts South Africa in March 2018.
Since their return to international cricket after completing the suspension period, both of them have impressed with their remarkable batting performances. After a successful IPL 2019, David Warner just missed becoming the leading run-scorer in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. He finished as the second most run-scorer in that tournament as the left-handed batsman scored 647 runs in 10 innings (average 71.88) – just one run short from the leading run-scorer Indian opener Rohit Sharma (648 runs in nine innings).
Later, David Warner had a disastrous run in the Ashes 2019. However, many have still put strong faith in him. Also, he was in impressive form in the other formats, especially he was unstoppable during the recent home T20Is.

At the stumps of day two, Australia managed to score 312/1 and Warner was batting at the end of the day on 151 runs off 265 balls. The left-handed opening batsman hit 10 fours in that incredible knock.
Openers David Warner and Joe Burns put the 222 runs partnership. Burns just missed his century as he was dismissed on 97 runs. Till the end of the day two, Warner and Marnus Labuschagne (55*) put the 90 runs partnership for the unbroken second wicket. At the end of the day, Australia were leading by 72 runs.
When David Warner was returning to the dressing room at the end of the day, all the crowds and his teammates were giving a long-standing ovation for his remarkable batting performance. Before leaving the ground, Warner gave his playing gloves pair to a young fan who was supporting the Australian team. It won more hearts. Even, Warner’s teammate Josh Hazlewood had an amazing reaction on that.
