David Warner is ready to make his IPL comeback
The former SRH captain David Warner missed the last season due to ball-tampering controversy. He is playing for SRH since IPL 2014, and he is the second most run-scorer for this team. The left-handed opening batsman has played 59 IPL matches for SRH and has scored 2,579 runs with an impressive average of 52.63. Only the former SRH opener, Shikhar Dhawan is ahead in SRH’s most run-scorer list (2,768 runs in 91 matches).
Under David Warner’s captaincy, SRH won their only IPL trophy in 2016. In that season, he led the side from the front as he was the second most run-scorer in that tournament. He scored 848 runs in 17 innings with an average of 60.57.
Once again, the Aussie opener is ready to show his old class in the new season. While IPL 2019 will begin on 23rd March, David Warner’s SRH will play their first match on 24th March. They will face the host side Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their opening game of IPL 2019.
The initial IPL matches will be crucial for David Warner
David Warner’s one-year suspension period will be ended in the next week. Though he will be available for the national team since the completion of the suspension period, he has no international matches left to play before the World Cup.
So, the IPL 2019 is the place for him to showcase his form and grab the Australian opening batsman spot for the upcoming World Cup. The initial matches of IPL 2019 are going to be crucial for him to earn his place in the Australian World Cup squad.
