Dean Jones Picks His Best Fielders in Contemporary Cricket
Former Australian cricketer Dean Jones, who was one of the heroes for Australia’s first Cricket World Cup victory, recently revealed his best fielders in the present cricket world.
Notably, the fielding is one of the most important parts of a cricket match. A fielder can change the situation of a game very quickly due to his fielding effort. A bowler’s success is very much depended on the fielding efforts. Despite having strong batting and bowling units, a team can’t challenge strongly without the good fielders.
In his international career, Dean Jones was famous for his batting and fielding abilities. While Australia won the 1987 Cricket World Cup, Jones was Australia’s third most run-scorer as he scored 314 runs in eight innings (average 44.85).
Moreover, Jones was one of the top successful fielders for Australia in that tournament as he took four catches.
Recently, the former Australian cricketer opened up his views mostly on cricket in the Q&A session on his official Twitter account.
Ravindra Jadeja and Ben Stokes are Dean Jones’ current favourite players
When a fan asked him his best fielder in the current cricket world, the 58-year-old took two names in this special list. These two players are Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja and English cricketer Ben Stokes.

There is no doubt that both of these cricketers are very important members for their respective national teams. Their presence always provides advantages to their teams. While Jadeja is the spin-bowling all-rounder, Stokes is the pace-bowling all-rounder.
Apart from their effective batting and bowling skills, both of them are also very famous for their outstanding fielding efforts.
While England won their first-ever ICC Cricket World Cup in last year, Stokes played a pivotal role for that success, including in the final where he won the Player of the Match award mostly for the game-changing batting performance.
Though Jadeja didn’t play much game in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, he still finished as one of the most successful fielders in that tournament. His fielding was so effective in that tournament as he was the first choice substitute fielder for India in every game.
