On Saturday (23 February), the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals (DC) has unveiled their brand new jersey for the IPL 2019.
The team played all the previous 11 seasons as the Delhi Daredevils. While many famous international cricketers have played for this side, they have always failed to maintain their potential. They have never reached the IPL final till the date. The Delhi franchise is the only side among the present participated teams who haven’t reached the IPL final yet.
Their best IPL record is finishing at the third position in IPL 2012. Moreover, they were two-time semi-finals in IPL 2008 and 2009 seasons. However, in the last six seasons, they have failed to reach the playoffs.
In March 2018, GMR sold the 50% stake of the franchise to JSW Sports for INR 550 crore (US$ 77 million). Later, in last December, the team has been renamed Delhi Capitals. It will be the first time when they will play as Delhi Capitals.
Now, they have unveiled their brand new jersey for the upcoming IPL season. While Delhi Daredevils always followed the mixture of red and dark blue coloured jerseys, this time they have widely changed the jersey colours. Delhi Capitals will start their IPL 2019 season with the sky blue jersey where we can see also the lesser portions of deep blue and the tiny parts of red.
On their official social media accounts, Delhi Capitals revealed their IPL 2019 jersey.
