- Diamond Duck
When a batsman is dismissed for nought without facing a ball, it’s described as “Diamond Duck”. For this kind of dismissal, usually a batsman gets run out from the non-striker end without facing a ball but alternatively, it also happens when a batsman gets stumped or run-out off a wide delivery during facing his first ball of the match. It is also a very common term of ducks in the cricket world. During this incident, the batsman’s scorecard looks like 0 (0 balls).

- Platinum Duck/ Royal Duck
When an opening batsman has been dismissed in the very first ball of his team’s innings, it is called as “Platinum Duck” or “Royal Duck”, depending on where the game is played. Sometimes it also referred as “Diamond Duck”. Besides, the opening batsman, the team’s scorecard also shows as 0 in 1 ball for this dismissal.
- Titanium Duck
It is the very rare term in cricket. When an opening batsman has been dismissed on the first ball of his team’s innings without facing a single ball, it is said to be out for a “Titanium Duck”. It is similar to “Diamond Duck” (no.4) but for “Titanium Duck” it will be the opening batsman only while “Diamond Duck” is used for all batsman. For the “Titanium Duck”, the team’s scorecard and the opening batsman’s scorecard should be 0 in 0 balls, which happens rarely.
