- Laughing Duck
When a batsman is dismissed for a duck concluding the batting team’s innings is said to be out for a “Laughing Duck”. However, this term is hardly used in cricket.
- Palladium Duck/Golden Goose
A batsman who is dismissed for a duck on the first ball of the match in his or her team’s first match of the season is said to be out for a “Palladium Duck” or “Golden Goose”. The term is not commonly used in the cricket.
- Pair
When a batsman is dismissed for zero in the both innings of a two-innings cricket match, then it is called a “Pair”. It is a very common term and naturally it happens in the Test cricket and first-class cricket.
- King Pair – “King Pair” refers to that dismissal when a batsman is dismissed on “Golden Duck” in the both innings of a match. It is also very commonly used in the international cricket.
