On Saturday night, Windies comfortably claimed a victory in the only T20I against the hosts England at Chester-le-Street by 21 runs.

After winning the toss, England decided to bowl first. With the help of good opening start, Windies put 176 runs (176/9) on the board at the end of 20 overs.

In reply, England was bowled out for just 155 runs in 19.3 overs, as Windies won that encounter by 21 runs.

  1. Windies batsman Chris Gayle became the first T20I batsman to hit 100 sixes. At the end of this game, Gayle hit 103 sixes in his T20I career.

 

  1. Windies opening batsmen Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis put a brilliant 77-runs partnership for the opening wicket. It is the second highest T20I opening wicket partnership for any team against England on the England soil. The highest in this list is 107 runs between Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif (Pakistan) at Manchester on 7th September 2016.

 

  1. West Indian opener Evin Lewis (51) completed his half-century in just 26 deliveries. It is the second fastest T20I half-century by a Windies batsman against England. The record holder is Marlon Samuels who once had completed his half-century against England in just 25 balls (at London on 28th June 2007).

 

  1. England leg-spinner Adil Rashid bowled beautifully, as his bowling figures were 4-0-25-3. Here are some stats of this superb bowling figure:

i) It is the best T20I bowling figure by an England spinner on their home soil. The previous record holder was left-arm spinner Liam Dawson with a bowling figure of 4-0-27-3 against Sri Lanka at Southampton on 5th July 2016.

ii) Also, it is the third best T20I bowling figure for England against Windies. The top four list is given below:
