India had their backs against the wall when they ended Day’s two play at 174-6. Hanuma Vihari and Ravindra Jadeja showed the stomach for the fight as they put together an alliance of 74 runs. The debutant showed great resistance as he scored his maiden fifty at the International circuit, as the whole Indian dressing room stood up to applause Vihair’s effort. However, the right-hander resilient was put to rest by Moeen Ali as Vihari’s outside edge found Jonny Bairstow gloves.

In fact, Vihari scored 56 runs which is the fifth highest score for any Indian debutant while batting at number six. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja who is also playing his first Test match of the England tour also showed great fight with the bat.

Vihari and Jadeja showed the fight with the bat.

Jadeja who scalped four wickets in the first innings carried his confidence as scored 41 runs to keep India’s hopes alive in the ongoing Test match.

Meanwhile, it was a typical start to the day’s play as James Anderson and Stuart Broad kept missing the outside edges of Indian batsmen. It has been a similar story in this Test match. However, Hanuma Vihari and Ravindra Jadeja showed great fight to fight against all the odds.
