South Africa Test skipper Faf du Plessis hit out at a airways company after he missed the flight to India. In his tweet, Plessis wrote that his flight to Dubai got delayed, that further resulted in him missing the flight to India from there.

“Finally on a plane to Dubai after a 4 hour delay . Now I’m gonna miss my flight to India, next flight is only 10 hours later… ????? @British_Airways” he wrote on Twitter.

Plessis, who was dropped from the T20I squad, was to each India today for the Test series but is now expected to land here at night. He will be leading South Africa in the Test series after being retained in the position.
Selectors, surprisingly, dropped him from the T20I squad, handing over the captaincy to Quinton de Kock. While he revealed that he is still the captain of the T20I side, the future of Plessis as T20I captain will only be clear when South Africa play their next fixtures.

There still remains doubt over the fact whether he is the ODI and that will also be clear before their next ODI in future. Plessis, himself, had indicated at taking retirement after next year’s T20 World Cup that takes place in Australia.

Under him, South Africa did not have a good run at World Cup 2019. They finished at the seventh position in the points table with just three wins in eight matches that they played. South Africa made wholesome changes to their coaching staff and also did not renew the contract of head coach Ottis Gibson.

A change in captaincy was also on the cards. Plessis, after being dropped, went on to play for Kent in Vitality Blast and county cricket. The result of the India-South Africa Test series will have a great impact on his future as South Africa’s Test captain.
The Test series between India and South Africa kicks off on October 2 with the first match in to be played in Vizag. The second and third Test will be played in Pune and Ranchi from October 10 and 19, respectively.

Prior to the Tests, South Africa will face Rohit Sharma-led Board President’s XI in a three-day practice match in Vizag.
