On the day 2 (Friday), three half-centuries made Indians on top in the second warm-up match against WICB President’s XI at St. Kitts. After a good bowling performance by the spinners on day 1, now Indian batsmen also performed quite well on the day 2.

Indians began the day 2 with the overnight score 93/3. At first, Indian Test captain Virat Kohli (also Indians skipper of this match) put a good 88 runs partnership along with unbeaten overnight batsman KL Rahul for the 4th wicket. Rahul showed a good batting performance as he scored 64 runs before getting retired out in the beginning of the second session.

After remained unbeaten on 45 at lunch on day 2, Kohli completed his half-century in the very 1st over of the second session. After that, soon at the end of that same over, Kohli was trapped for lbw by Rahkeem Cornwall.

After Kohli departs, Indians innings were carried forward by Ajinkya Rahane and Stuart Binny as they put 44 runs partnership for the 6th wicket. Binny was dismissed on 16 runs while Rahane failed to capitalise his good start and departed on 32 runs.

After that, Indians wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha and Indians spin all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja showed their batting skills on the pitch along with Ravichandran Ashwin. Saha played a 31 runs knock before getting run out. On the other hand, after a good bowling performance on the day 1, Jadeja and Ashwin now showed another good performance on day 2 and this time with their bats. Jadeja made a quick-fire half-century while Ashwin gave a good support to him and help to extend the Indians lead over 150 runs. Jadeja was dismissed on 56 while Ashwin scored 26 runs before getting dismissed. Like the bowling partnership on day 1, Jadeja-Ashwin put a 47 runs partnership in batting. At the end, Amit Mishra remained not out on 10 while Indians bowled out at 364 runs. Indians took a massive first-innings lead of 184 runs.

On the day 2, Rahkeem Cornwall was the only wicket-taker for WICB President’s XI. After picking up a wicket on day 1, Cornwell took another 4 wickets on day 2 as he finished with the figure of 5/118. Other 2 dismissals were run-out while one batsmen (KL Rahul) was retired out.

In the second innings, WICB President’s XI lost 1 wicket at the end of the day. At the stump of day 2, hosts were 26/1 while opener Leon Johnson (17) was dismissed caught & bolwed by off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin at the very last ball of the day. The hosts are trailing 158 runs with 9 wickets in hands.
