As a right-arm off-spinner, the former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag was very effective. During his international career, his bowling played some memorable and crucial roles for the national team by picking up the valuable wickets.

It was only his third ODI when Sehwag managed to pick up his first ODI wicket. It was the Rajkot ODI against Zimbabwe on 14th December 2000, where Sehwag got his first ODI wicket after successfully trapping star Zimbabwean cricketer Grant Flower (20 runs) for the lbw. Later, in that same game, Sehwag took another important wicket of Guy Whittall (10 runs).

Apart from taking 40 Test wickets, Sehwag also managed to claim 96 ODI wickets.
