The Australian left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc has mostly proved himself useful in the lower-order batting position. While his Test and first-class batting averages are just above 22, the left-handed batsman has already registered 11 first-class half-centuries, including 10 Test half-centuries.

In fact, in his early Test career, Starc almost reached the century mark during the Mohali Test against the hosts India in March 2013 where he was dismissed after scoring 99 runs.

Since then, Starc has played more useful innings, but he has never surpassed that knock. However, the 30-year-old still can play a better knock and register his maiden Test century.
