When the West Indies were dominating the cricket world, legendary cricketer Desmond Haynes was one of their great batsmen. Haynes had a long international cricket career between 1978 and 1994 where he played 116 Tests and 238 ODIs. The right-handed batsman scored 7,487 Test runs (average 42.29) and 8,648 ODI runs (average 41.37).

In his international career, Haynes played 34 international matches in India where he scored 1,147 runs in 42 innings (30.18), including two centuries and six half-centuries. Though we can’t call these overall performances were weak, his Test performances were not much shining enough.

While he batted 18 Test innings in India, Haynes scored 377 runs with an average of 22.17. He only scored two half-centuries, including his best knock of 58 runs.
