In 2011, Pattinson was picked up by IPL team — Kolkata Knight Riders to play for them in IPL 2012. However, he could not get any opportunity to feature any game. Unluckily, Pattinson had a breakdown in his career because of a continuous stress fracture.
He made a strong comeback in 2018-2019 when he impressed with his game on the domestic ground. Currently, the player is busy playing the Big Bash League (BBL) 2019-20. Playing for Brisbane Heat, he is a major player for the team. His best figures came against Adelaide Strikers when he picked five-for after giving away 33 runs.
