Gautam Gambhir – Once he used to be the regular opener for the Indian team and him along with Virender Sehwag used to teach bowlers a lesson in their own style. The star player who came up from the ranks of under 19 cricket served the nation successfully for almost ten years in which he went onto pay more than 50 Test matches and 147 one-day matches. He along with Virender Sehwag performed their responsibility to lay a strong foundation so that the middle order can capitalise on that on many occasions, but suddenly in the year 2012 his form declined and he saw himself being dropped the next year due to continued failures. Though he made a comeback in 2014 for the England tour but could not do anything special there as he just 25 runs in four innings he played. It was seen that he was shivering while batting and in the end he got buried under the pressure and failed. Now with likes of Karun Nair and KL Rahul coming up with consistent performances, there is a bleak chance of Gambhir coming back to the Indian team and we may also see him announcing retirement in nearby future.
