Robin Uthappa had a dream-like beginning in the international cricket but soon he vanished away from the team’s batting order because of the emergence of better cricketers than him.

In 2006, he played the maiden ODI against England and scored a well compiled 86, opening the innings at Indore. Following impressive performances, the Karnataka player was included in the 2007 World Cup and also got the place in the T20 World Cup the same year.

But Uthappa could not give consistent performance in the tournament. However, he played all the matches in the tournament, which was won by India. His performance dipped after the Asia Cup 2008.

From there on, he was in and out of the team and finally was dropped from the team at the end of 2015.

Uthappa has played 46 ODIs and 13 T20Is and scored 934 and 294 respectively. However, the 33-year old plays in domestic cricket for Kerela and has been constantly performing in IPL.

In the upcoming IPL 2020, his match-winning performance can give him a comeback call from the national team.
