Vijay Shankar was fortunate enough to get the chance in the World Cup 2019 squad, but destiny had an altogether a different plan for him. He got injured in between the tournament which led to his ouster. Now, the all-rounder is sweating hard in a domestic fold to regain his place in the national team.
The IPL 2020 will be an important event for him to impress the selectors with his all-round performance. The towering cricketer can also get the chance in the T20 World Cup 2021 scheduled in India.
In the last year’s mega event, he took a wicket with his first ball, in a bid to become the third player to do so at a World Cup event.
