The match between India and Pakistan is a scintillating rivalry to watch in the cricket field. Sledging is the part and parcel of the game but in the India-Pakistan matches, the sledging might take a big shape. The struggle between Gautam Gambhir and Kamran Akmal is a memorable one. Recently, Akmal recalled the incident and labelled it as a misunderstanding, and he has claimed they are good friends now.

During the Group Stages of the Asia Cup 2010 against Pakistan, the wicketkeeper-batsman Akmal was constantly appealing which annoyed Gambhir, who was batting. Following which, they both passed words to each other and the umpires had to intervene to stop the verbal clash.

Kamran recounted the incident and said that he had a good relationship with the Indian cricketers and what happened on the field stayed there.

“It was all due to misunderstanding and happened in the heat of the moment then. Gautam and I are good friends because we have played a lot in ‘A’ cricket. We met regularly during the cricketing tours, had food together,” Akmal said about the infamous war of words with Gautam Gambhir.

The wicketkeeper-batsman was again involved in an altercation with Ishant Sharma during a bilateral match between India and Pakistan in 2012. He has claimed that there is now no fight between them and they have moved on from that incident.

”It was all due to me not understanding what he said. The same with Ishant at Bangalore. You know me I don’t say much on the field. Both Gautam and Ishant are very good boys. We respect them and they respect us. What happens on the field, stays there,” he recalled.

Kamran, who last played for Pakistan in 2017, has played 53 Tests, 157 ODIs and 58 T20Is. His brother Umar Akmal has been in the news because he has been banned for three years by PCB for not reporting corrupt approaches.
