Harbhajan Singh Picks His All-Time Playing XI, Selects MS Dhoni as Captain

In an interview with Lord’s Cricket Ground, the Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh named his all-time playing XI. Harbhajan Singh recently declared his playing XI team which included Sachin Tendulkar as the opener and MS Dhoni as the captain. He paired master-blaster Tendulkar with Rohit Sharma as the opener of his team. And Virat Kohli was named at number three. The three names give his team a strong top three in the batting line-up.
The former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting is named at number fourth position who is then followed by Jacques Kallis. The South African batting allrounder has the record of taking more than 250 wickets in ODI matches. Whereas Ponting has led his team to two out of Australia’s five World Cup titles. Flintoff came after Kallis in Harbhajan’s all-time playing XI list.
Harbhajan Picked Dhoni as the Captain of his Playing XI
Next up was Dhoni, who was not only the wicketkeeper-batsman of the team but also the captain. Dhoni is one name in the list of Indian skippers who has led the team to triumph in all the ICC trophies. Known for his quick stumping, Dhoni led his team to win T20 World Cup in 2007, 50-over World Cup in 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.
Harbhajan named Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne as two spinners for his team while tagging along Lasith Malinga. The Sri Lankan seamer is the only bowler to take four wickets off four consecutive deliveries in an ODI. And also the only bowler to take two hat-tricks in 50-over World Cup tournaments. He also led Sri Lankan team in the final of 2014 T20 World Cup which they had won.
And Pakistan’s Wasim Akram was the final one to be included in Bhajji’s team. Akram is regarded as one of the finest pacers of all time and he is known as ‘The King of Swing.’
Covering every basic aspect of cricket, Harbhajan included the best players from almost every team in his perfect squad. He included four players from India, two from Australia and two from Sri Lanka. Whereas he picked one player each from South Africa, Pakistan and England.
