It Was Inhuman to Criticise Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh: Shoaib Akhtar
Former Pakistan cricketer turned Youtuber Shoaib Akhtar supported Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh for their support during the crisis caused by a coronavirus. Both the Indian cricketers were criticised for supporting Shahid Afridi’s initiative to combat the deadly virus.
Thus, a huge controversy cropped up after Harbhajan and Yuvraj had thrown support behind veteran Pakistani cricketer. Twitterati slammed the duo for supporting the arch-rival nation.
Taking to his YouTube channel, Akhtar believes that the world should stand together and support each other in the time of crises. He expressed that it was an inhuman act to criticise Harbhajan and Yuvraj for supporting the neighbouring country when the world is facing an unprecedented challenge.
“It was inhuman to criticise them. It is not about countries or religion at the moment, it is about humanity,” Akhtar said.
Shoaib Akhtar showed his love for India:
Further, the speedster said that when he worked in India, he also used to support the staff with low income.
“I am forever grateful for the love I have received from the people of India. For the first time I am revealing this, whatever I used to earn from India, I made a significant amount there, thirty percent of it, I used to distribute among the low-income staff who used to work with me in the TV,” he remembered.
“From drivers, runners to my security guys. I took care of a lot of people. I was like if am earning from this country, I have to help my colleagues also.”
Recently, Shoaib also asked for India’s help in making 10,000 ventilators for the people in Pakistan, suggesting the country will remember this gesture forever.
As if now, the cases are increasing with rapid speed around the world. 88,528 people have died so far from the coronavirus and had affected lives of more than over 1 million.
