Famous commentator Harsha Bhogle has selected his ODI team of the year for Cricbuzz. Bhogle selected four Indian players in his ODI team of the year as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Kuldeep Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah made the cut into the side. Indian opener Rohit Sharma and England opener Jason Roy open the innings for Bhogle.

Rohit Sharma ended the year as the leading run-getter with 1490 runs and also top-scored in the World Cup as he scored 648 runs. Roy accumulated 845 runs in the 12 matches and provided solid starts to his team.

It is a potent side.

Without much of a surprise, Indian skipper Virat Kohli bats at number three for the cricket expert. Kohli finished as the second-highest run-getter with 1377 runs whereas Pakistan stylish batsman Babar Azam takes the fourth position as he scored 1092 runs in 2019.

Harsha Bhogle who is widely known as the voice of cricket selected England’s Ben Stokes and Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan as the two all-rounders in the side. Stokes scored 719 ODI runs in 2019 whereas Hasan collected 746 runs in the 50-overs version.

England’s wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler keeps the wickets for Bhogle as the right-hander scored 667 runs in the 20 matches he played. Kuldeep Yadav is the solitary spinner in the side as the chinaman scalped 32 wickets in 23 ODIs in 2019.

Mitchell Starc, Jofra Archer and Jasprit Bumrah constitute the pace battery for Bhogle’s ODI team of the year. Starc took 27 wickets in 10 ODIs for Australia, Archer was ruthless as he took 23 wickets in 14 matches. India’s talisman pacer Jasprit Bumrah snared 25 wickets in 14 matches in 2019.
