Parthiv Patel says Cameron Green is living up to the hype in IPL 2023-

Everyone knows what kind of player he is and today he put power behind his shots and played all over the field. If they bowled outside the off stump, he was reaching and hitting it. If it was coming straight, we got to see more shots. When the short ball came, we saw his pull shots.

The way people talk about the level of player Cameron Green is, today’s performance let everyone know who he is. How much further he can rise from here and show consistency is going to be very important,” Patel said on Jio Cinema.

While in the IPL auction 2023, Green became the second highest earner with INR 17.5 crore in a single IPL auction, as Sam Curran was brought for INR 18.5 core, so there are a lot of expectations from the tall Australian all-rounder, and now with his first IPL fifty, he has shown his potential as before this inning he only managed 35 runs in four innings.

Whereas the 23-year-old Aussie all-rounder was later awarded player of the match for his all-round performance, as he registered 1/29 while bowling and a 64* (40) knock, in batting he came in the 5th over and made a crucial partnership with Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma as MI’s left-hander dominated against the SRH spinner.

Green played an anchoring knock, but as the spinner was gone, he started playing attacking shots and finished with two sixes and six boundaries, later adding 40 odd runs along with Tim David for the 5th wicket to take his side past 190 run mark.

If one team wins a game or two, they hope to stretch that momentum as much as possible. There will be a phase where they lose a game or two, so if you’re playing well, you’re going to keep trying to win as many games as possible,” the Ex-MI WK concluded.

While, Patel last played IPL in the 2019 edition for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), in 139 matches he scored 2848 runs, the left-handed batter has also slammed 13 fifties in the cash-rich league, while in 2020 he announced retirement from all formats of the cricket.

Now as MI has won three games in a row, after losing the first two matches in IPL 2023, they will be looking to continue their winning streak against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on April 22 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
