It was the 62nd match of the IPL 2012 between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Daredevils (DD). The hosts Delhi Daredevils won the toss and decided to field first in that game. Though the home pacer Varun Aaron dismissed the RCB opener Tillakaratne Dilshan (10) very cheaply, soon they realised that it was not their bowlers’ day.

Another RCB opener Chris Gayle and skipper Virat Kohli were unstoppable with the bat till the end of that innings, and they set up the 204 runs partnership for the unbroken second wicket. At the end of that innings, the RCB scored 215/1 (20 overs) – Gayle was not out on 128 runs off 62 balls (7 fours and 13 sixes) and Kohli was not out on 73 runs off 53 balls (9 fours and only six).

Though the hosts’ batsmen also fought well, they were restricted to 194/9 (20 overs) as the RCB won that match by 21 runs.
