Until a few months back, both Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were permanent members of the Indian team in all the formats of the game.
However, a rest provided by the selectors cost them, and now, they have seen themselves been confined to just the Test format only.

They are not given chances in the limited overs format, and with the current spinners doing the job well, it has made much more difficult for them to think of a comeback in limited overs.
Ashish Nehra, who will play his last game on November 1, has though said that he would be happy if these two players make a comeback in ODI team as well,
“I would be happy if Ashwin and Jadeja come back into the ODI squad. Bowling to domestic batsmen is tougher,” Nehra told TOI.
Surely, the way in which they got ousted from the team, it was not at all an ideal way to deal with them. They weren’t communicated anything about there selection, which has now seen them bowling to domestic players in Ranji Trophy.
Though they have been recalled to the Indian team for the Test series against Sri Lanka, they would join the camp next week, before the start of the Test series.

It is a historic day for Nehra, as he is probably the only second player in the country, after Sachin Tendulkar, to play his retirement game at his home ground. Tendulkar marked an end to his career at his home ground at the Wankhede stadium in 2013.
The first T20I between India and New Zealand is scheduled on November 1 in Delhi. Rajkot and Thiruvananthapuram will host the next two games on November 4 and 7.
