Former Indian World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev was a gorgeous hitter in his generation. Under his leadership, India won their first ever Cricket World Cup in 1983.

The successful pace-bowling all-rounder featured in four editions of the Cricket World Cup (1979, 1983, 1987 and 1992). In his 24 CWC innings, Kapil Dev scored 669 runs with an average of 37.16. The right-handed batsman hit one century and one half-century in this tournament history. His CWC strike-rate was 115.14.
