The day/night ODI format started in 1979. However, the first day/night Cricket World Cup match introduced in the 1992 Cricket World Cup (between England and India at Perth on 22nd February 1992).

On the other hand, England has already organised four Cricket World Cups (1975, 1979, 1983 and 1999), before the upcoming edition. However, they have never hosted a day/night game in CWC history. Till the date, England has organised 94 CWC matches, and all were the day games.

In the forthcoming CWC edition, England and Wales will organise a total of seven day-night matches.

Since the 1999 Cricket World Cup, Australia has never suffered a defeat during their chasing in Cricket World Cup history. Last time they suffered a CWC defeat during a chasing, it was against Pakistan at Leeds on 23rd May 1999.

Since then, Australia has chased in 18 CWC matches, and they have won all those matches.
