Ahead of India’s final pre-World Cup warm-up match, Indian all-rounder, Vijay Shankar has given good news to the Indian fans. On Monday (27th May), he returned to the net practice and batted comfortably.
Just one day ahead of their first warm-up match against New Zealand, the 28-year-old Vijay Shankar received a painful injury. It was so painful that he left the ground very soon while a support staff carried his cricket kits.
Later, he missed the first warm-up game against New Zealand last Saturday (25th May) at The Oval (London).

India lost their first warm-up match
In the first warm-up match against New Zealand, India suffered a big defeat. After deciding to bat first, India only managed to score 179 runs (39.2 overs) before losing their all wickets. While the top-orders failed to put the minimum fight on the swing-friendly pitch, most of the other batsmen failed to put solid contest.
Only Ravindra Jadeja (54 runs) and Hardik Pandya (30 runs) played some good cricket in that innings.
Among the Kiwi bowlers, Trent Boult (4/33) and James Neesham (3/26) hugely shined with the ball.
In reply, New Zealand chased down that target comfortably in 37.1 overs after losing four wickets. New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson (67 runs) and the senior batsman Ross Taylor (71 runs) guided the team very well.
Now, on Tuesday, India will face Bangladesh in their second and final warm-up game ahead of the Cricket World Cup.
The 2019 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup will begin on 30th May when the host side England will face South Africa at The Oval (London).
India will begin their new Cricket World Cup campaign on 5th June when they will meet South Africa at Southampton.
