The right-handed batsman Glenn Turner was one of the finest openers in New Zealand cricket history. Apart from leading the New Zealand team in 1975 CWC, Turner also served for his national team in 1979 and 1983 CWC tournaments. He played 14 CWC innings where he scored 612 runs with an average of 61.20. He hit two centuries and two half-centuries in CWC career.

Turner was the first batsman to score 150+ runs in a CWC match (171* against East Africa at Birmingham on 7th June 1975).
