Once again, Canada claimed this poor record. After 24 years of 1979 Cricket World Cup, Canada broke their own lowest CWC total and created a new record. In the Pool B match of 2003 CWC, Sri Lanka bundled out Canada for just 36 runs (18.4 overs). It is the present lowest completed total in Cricket World Cup history.

All the Canadian batsmen failed to reach the double-digit marks, while five batsmen were dismissed for the ducks. Opener Desmond Chumney and the captain Joe Harris were the highest scorers in that innings as both of them scored nine runs.

Among the Sri Lankan bowlers, Prabath Nissanka (4/12) took four wickets, and Chaminda Vaas (3/15) got three wickets. Also, Dilhara Fernando (2/4) and Muttiah Muralitharan (1/3) picked up two and one wickets respectively.

Sri Lanka took only 4.4 overs to chase that target after only losing the opener Sanath Jayasuriya (9 runs). Another opener Marvan Atapattu remained not out on 24 runs along with the wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Sangakkara (4*).
