ICC Women’s T20I Rankings: Smriti Mandhana Jumps to No. 4

The Indian star cricketer, Smriti Mandhana has risen to the fourth position while Jemimah Rodrigues dropped to seventh in the recently revealed ICC Women’s T20I rankings. While Jemimah was unable to impress with her performance against Australia, Mandhana played a brilliant knock in the final against Australia.

The captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, Harmanpreet Kaur remains at the ninth position in the list. Whereas, the New Zealand skipper, Suzie Bates achieves the top spot in the rankings with 765 points. The fellow Kiwi batter of Bates, Sophie Devine rests at the second, a step behind Bates, 741 points on her name.

In the meantime, the Australian opener Beth Mooney and Mandhana, both made two half-centuries during the tri-series.

Although India lost the battle by 11 runs, both the star cricketers of the two teams made upward movements in the recently revised T20I rankings. In the final game against Australia, Mandhana stroke 37-balls 66 whereas, Mooney was adjudged as the Player of the Series for her tally of 208 runs throughout the series.

While the Australian opener went up to the third position, her teammate Meg Lanning dropped three positions in the list.

Lanning is now at the fifth position in the list with 715 points on her name. Alyssa Healy, on the other hand, had a major drop down to the sixth position with 674 points.

India’s Jemimah rests at the seventh position with 663 points who is, thereafter, followed by the Caribbean batter Stafanie Taylor. With six points more to her name, Taylor is one step ahead of Harmanpreet who still rests at ninth position with 643 points.

Talking about the all-rounders in the T20I Women’s rankings, Australia’s Ellyse Perry shares the top position of the chart with New Zealand’s Sophie Devine with 403 points.

In the meantime, Australia’s Megan Schutt is at the top of the charts in the ICC Women’s T20I Bowler’s rankings.

Whereas, India’s Poonam Yadav has fallen out of the top ten ranks of the list after the poor series and dropped six places down to 12th position in the rankings.

Following Schutt, South Africa’s Shabnim Ismail comes in at the second position with 743 points on her name. Jess Jonassen, who had a remarkable season so far rests at eighth position with 708 points in her name.
