ICC World Cup 2019: If Indian Team Wants Me To Bat At 3, 4 or Open, I will Be Ready – KL Rahul

It seems like KL Rahul is back to his best with his willow. On the other day against Mumbai Indians, he smashed a brilliant century for Kings XI Punjab thus making a strong case for his selection in the ICC World Cup 2019 squad. Meanwhile, he makes his voice on the upcoming grand event.
The flamboyant batsman from Karnataka has gone through a lot in recent times. However, he made a stellar return by smashing it more often than not for the team. In between, in an interview with Times of India, KL Rahul revealed his thoughts on the upcoming world cup.

Speaking of the event, he quoted that it is a prestigious event, which is something every cricketer would love to be part of. KL Rahul believes that would be a great opportunity to bring laurels for the country.
“It is the most prestigious tournament for any cricketer in the world. It is the dream of every cricketer to represent the country in the World Cup and it will be a brilliant opportunity,” KL Rahul said.
On his batting position:
Despite travelling for almost two years with the team, KL Rahul is unsure about his position in the team. Letting his opinion on it, Rahul quoted that he would love to bat at any position for the team. He is happy to bat even at number 4 for the team.
“Wherever the team requires me and wants me to fit in, I will go and give my best. If they want me to the field, I will. If they want me to bat at No. 3, 4 or open, I will be ready as per the team’s requirements. It’s a team sport,” Rahul said on being asked about whether he will be ready to bat at Number 4 if given the responsibility.”
On world cup selection:
KL Rahul wants to focus on his game rather than thinking about the selection. He highlighted the fact that selection is in the hands of the selectors while playing is in his hands, which he would like to focus.
“World Cup selection is not in our hands. For now, my focus is on IPL. I want to score as many runs for my team (KXIP). I am not thinking and worried about it (World Cup selection). If I get a chance, I will give my best,” Rahul signed off.
Well, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out for the youngster. Most probably, he would be on the plane that tours England for the ICC World Cup 2019. However, it is intriguing to know his position for the team.
